A budget of RM1,500 million has been allocated in the Ninth Malaysia Plan. The Malaysian government will continue its efforts to improve and upgrade the quality of fire and rescue services to meet fire safety requirement of international standards. During the Ninth Malaysia Plan period, more emphasis will be given to building additional fire stations and control bases as well as purchasing more comprehensive fire fighting and rescue equipment. Fire prevention campaigns will continue to be conducted to enhance public awareness on the need to take precautionary measures against fire incidents.
